Review : Interesting and Fun Bionicle Project
The Axalara T9 has a number of fun and interesting mechanical features that really work. There are doors that open and the three tail pieces open and close in response to turning knobs. It took my 7 year old son all day to build it; he made one critical error (the mechanism that moves the tail fins wasn't centered properly) and a couple minor ones that I was able to fix after studying the instructions. This is one of the few lego projects he hasn't wanted to take apart after a week or two; he enjoys playing with the completed spaceship. It's pretty big - a good two feet long - and it takes up a lot of space on top of his bookshelf. This is definitely an advanced project and probably not for someone new to Legos or Bionicle. That said, no other building toy has the precision of Legos and if you follow the instructions carefully, they will always go together properly. Overall, highly recommended.
